How It Works
Enter your trade parameters
Select your trading pair, position side (Long/Short), entry price, exit price, position size in USDT, and leverage. These determine your position value.
Choose order types for entry and exit
Select whether you will use market orders (taker fee) or limit orders (maker fee) for opening and closing. This directly affects your fee rate.
Configure discounts and VIP level
Set your VIP tier, enable BNB fee payment for 10% discount, and toggle referral discount. These stacking modifiers reduce your effective fees.
Review complete cost breakdown
See opening fee, closing fee, total cost, fee as % of margin, and net P&L after fees. Understand the true cost of your trade before executing.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Forgetting to account for closing fees
Many traders only calculate the opening fee and forget that closing a position also incurs a trading fee, effectively doubling the total cost.
Always calculate total fee = opening fee + closing fee. Our calculator includes both by default.
Underestimating fee impact at high leverage
At 100x leverage, a 0.05% taker fee on both entry and exit totals 0.10% of position value – but that equals 10% of your initial margin.
Always check "Fee as % of Margin" to understand the real cost relative to your capital at risk.
Using market orders by default
Market orders always pay the higher taker fee (0.05%). Over many trades, the difference between maker and taker compounds significantly.
Use limit orders when possible for 0.02% maker rate. The 0.03% saving per side (0.06% round-trip) adds up quickly for active traders.
Not enabling BNB fee payment
The 10% BNB discount on futures fees is free savings that many traders miss simply because they have not toggled the setting.
Enable "Use BNB for fees" in Binance Futures settings. Keep a small BNB balance in your futures wallet.
Confusing funding fees with trading fees
Some traders include funding fees in their trading fee estimate, making the calculation inaccurate and harder to optimize.
Keep trading fees (per-trade) and funding fees (periodic, ~every 8 hours) as separate calculations. Focus on reducing trading fees first.
